Shantoon fabric also known as shantung fabric originated in Shandong, China. It’s a crisp fabric and its lightness causes it to drape elegantly n easily. It is similar to Dupion Silk but slightly thinner and less irregular.

Designers generally use this fabric for making menswear and womenswear garments. This is popularly used as lining in premium garments. Shantoon fabric is a lightweight, making it comfortable to wear, but also has enough structure to hold shape. Shantoon is less prone to wrinkling compared to pure silk, making it ideal for formal outfit.

Washing Instruction of Shantoon Fabric

• Shantoon fabric can generally be washed in a washing machine.
• For delicate garments or heavily embellished items, hand washing is recommended.
• Iron Shantoon fabric on a low heat setting to avoid scorching or damaging the fibers.
